About Us
Rich and I (Claudette) have been married for 40+ years and both are recently retired. I have spent the better part of my life as a teacher and/or librarian, starting in upstate New York before migrating to Nebraska. Rich has been a farmer in some form since he grew up on a dairy in New Jersey but has spent the last 15 years running the rails with Union Pacific Railroad.
We started traveling around the midwest in our travel trailer a few years ago and look forward to spending more time on the road in the coming years.
We are the parents of four grown daughters and grandparents to two (soon to be three) beautiful grandchildren. For more than a decade, our family was scattered from Wyoming/Colorado to Kansas but most of us have condensed to the south east corner of Nebraska in the last few years. Our second daughter and her husband still live in Colorado and we enjoy taking our camper out to visit them in the mountains.
Our family keeps us busy and entertained while our grandchildren and adventures keep us young.
The name for this blog actually comes from my youngest grandson, Nathan. He and his brother love trains and their Papa Rich is more than happy to encourage this as he just retired from the railroad. Nathan can't say "caboose" just yet and it comes out as "bagoose." Just a little something that makes me smile and think of my grandsons.
I love reading and spending time on the road is the perfect opportunity to work my way through my to be read pile and the books for my ever-increasing number of books clubs that I am in. My youngest daughter is a writer and has encouraged me to blog about our adventures both on the road and our every-day life.
I look forward to sharing the stories of my family and our travels with you.
